Meet Your Candidate for Council
Lyle McKellar

As a proud resident of Innisfail for the past 33 years, I’ve been honoured to call this community my home. Together with my wife Pat, we have raised our family here and have come to appreciate all that Innisfail offers — its people, its spirit, and its potential.

I bring to this role over 45 years of experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic, working in communities across Alberta. My career has given me not only frontline clinical expertise but also extensive administrative and leadership experience. Some of my accomplishments include:
-
Associate Executive Director for Emergency Medical Services, AHS - Central Zone
-
Founding Executive Director of the Advanced Life Support EMS system under the Mountain View Emergency Commission (serving Mountain View County, and the towns of: Olds, Didsbury, Sundre, Carstairs, and the Village of Cremona).
In addition to my professional background, I have served on several provincial boards, including:
-
Alberta College of Paramedics
-
Schizophrenia Society of Alberta
-
Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta

Since retiring six years ago, I’ve remained active in the community. I’ve worked in retail, volunteered with Innisfail Citizens on Patrol, and I am a proud member of the Central Alberta Men’s Shed (Innisfail) — an organization that builds connection and purpose through hands-on community service.
I am self-funding my campaign because I believe in independence, integrity, and commitment to our community above all. I’m running because I believe the next four years are vital for Innisfail’s future, and I am ready to give my time, energy, and experience to help shape that future.
I respectfully ask for your support and your vote as I embark on this new journey in service to our town.
Thank you Innisfail.

Campaign Priorities
Our Community, Our Home, Our Focus
Spending
Responsible Choices
I advocate for responsible spending to ensure that community funds are used judiciously, focusing on areas that directly benefit residents & businesses alike and enhances the quality of life for everyone in Innisfail.
Infrastructure
Sustainable Solutions
A commitment to sustainable infrastructure underlines my vision for a thriving Innisfail. By investing in projects that serve future generations, it aims to build a robust community.
Taxes
Fair and Reasonable
I believe in fair taxation that reflects community needs. By implementing reasonable tax policies, it ensures that all residents and businesses contribute to a prosperous future without excess burdens.
Safer Community
Prevention, Presence & Partnership
I believe a safe community is the foundation of a thriving one. By working together—residents, businesses, first responders, council, and local organizations—we can build a stronger presence of safety and peace of mind for all.
